Het Open Medicine Insitute wil antwoorden vinden voor diverse “onbegrepen” neuro-immunologische ziekten (ME/CVS, Lyme, MS etc.) gebruik makend van de nieuwste technieken en samenwerking (het verzamelen en het ter beschikking stellen van data en monsters). De motor achter het instititute is dr. Andreas Kogelnik. Ten behoeve van ME en CVS is een grootschalig samenwerkingsverband geïnitieerd onder de naam OMI-MERIT (ME Roundtable on Immunology and Treatment). The Prusty lab aims to unravel the biological mechanisms that convert a friend to a foe and its consequences on the host cell.
Simmaron Research is a nonprofit organization dedicated to
advancing scientific research, potentially leading to the discovery of
diagnostic markers and effective treatments that will ultimately improve
the quality of life for people suffering from CFS/ME and related
neuroimmune disorders.

The CFIDS Association of America werd in 1987 opgericht. Het werkt aan hun missie om CVS wereldwijd bekend te maken, diagnosticeerbaar, behandelbaar en te voorkomen door onderzoek te stimuleren gericht op vroege opsporing, objectieve diagnose, en doeltreffende behandeling van CVS dmv uitgebreide publieke, private en commerciële investeringen.
De SolveCFS Campaign werd in 2009 gelanceerd om deze inspanningen te bevorderen. In maart 2010 richtte men de SolveCFS BioBank op, een verzamelplaats voor bloed en weefselstalen en klinische informatie om de ontdekking van een biomarker te bevorderen.
De Britse ME/cvs biobank
werd opgestart in 2011. Het is de enige in Groot-Brittannië en de
eerste in Europa die gericht is op de studie van deze ziekte. De
projectleiding berust bij de London School of Hygiene & Tropical
Medicine en wordt momenteel gefinancierd door de ME Association, Action for ME, ME research UK en een particuliere schenker.
De University of the Pacific heeft besloten het Pacific Fatigue Lab abrupt te sluiten.
De kopstukken (Staci Stevens, Christopher R. Snell, Mark VanNess en Todd Davenport) hebben daarom samen met dr. Daniel Peterson, een stichting opgericht, the Workwell Foundation, met met een zelfstandige praktijk in Ripon (Californie) en een “filiaal” in Incline Village.
Hun missie is zich richten op onderzoek mbt de functionele aspecten van ME/CVS. Ze willen de biologische basis begrijpen en objectief bepaalde therapeutische interventies voorzien die de levenskwaliteit van de patiënt zal verbeteren.

WPI’s unique programs include EducateME, an initiative to create and share educational resources with patients and their doctors; MedME, which supports medical care within the Clinic at WPI; DiscoverME, a joint research effort with the University of Nevada, Reno; and NavigateME, a program designed to help patients live their best lives, ultimately “lighting a way” through post-acute infectious disease.
